Roofline

The roofline is an area of the roof that most of us are familiar with to look at but don’t always know all the elements involved. It is the section of the roof where the roofing materials meet the walls of the house and is a crucial part of the defences against the weather.

There are various elements that make up the roofline, depending on the layout of your home. Some may have things like gable end features if you have a semi or a detached house. But almost all houses will have things like fascia boards and soffits.

These areas also play a big part in allowing airflow from inside the loft, without exposing it to dampness. Because air rises, the heat from the home ends up in the loft and without the right ventilation, damp problems can happen. But if the roofline elements don’t work properly, the same can be the situation.
